modelo vincular.// Research shows that prolonged early emotional deprivation leaves deep traces in psychic structure. In late-adopted children we can observe disorganized attachment or attachment disorders. The suffering caused by negligence or abuse increases attachment and, paradoxically, results in a search for closeness with the parents or caretakers that fail in responding to the child´s needs, given that they are the source of problem, but also the ones that provide care. In the therapist´s office, through enactment, we can access early experiences recorded in the procedural memory as affection and action that regulate interpersonal relationships. The change in the «implicit relational knowledge» between therapist and patient will be gradually internalized as secure attachment, creating a new organization of the subject. Psychic change can be achieved via the relationship that the child can establish with the parents and with the therapist. Working with the parents is as important as the therapy with the child. It is vital that the child be made to feel secure by a family that offers trust and stability, that respects the child’s past history and that accepts him as he is, in order to construct a new relational pattern. |
